MRATC TRAIL WORK:
The club has ended our regular weekly group maintenance season. We will go out if a trail issue that is reported suggests a need (mratcinfo@gmail.com).

MRATC HIKES:
WEEKLY FRIDAY HIKE:
There will be no scheduled Friday hike 12/26 or 1/2. The New Year’s potluck is Jan. 2nd, see below. The next Friday hike will be Jan.9, 2026. Details coming Jan. 4th.

UPDATES ON VIRGINIA CREEPER TRAIL RECONSTRUCTION: The Kiewit Corporation has set up a website for ongoing updates, including a map of construction access points. Visit www.creepertrailrebuild.com

MRATC Annual Meeting and potluck: For those of you who might have been expecting our club’s Annual Meeting to be announced for February, we tried a spring meeting last year and liked the timing. The anticipated date will be Sat., April 11th. Stay tuned for details.
WINTER NATURALIST RALLY: Feb. 21. Save the date! Programs will include pottery-making, post-hurricane geology, and human-animal encounters. For details, visit www.blueridgediscoverycenter.org

MRATC is developing a new club website. It could use more photos of trail scenery and club activities. Anyone who has some good quality digital photos of club activities can send them to Drew: dhines@appalachiantrail.org.

REMEMBERING GEORGE DICKERT
George Dickert, an MRATC trail maintainer for many years, died earlier this month at the age of 98.
