We have surveyed over half the club miles that were opened last week north of Elk Garden. Thus far, that portion of the trail is in pretty good shape overall, though we also know that there are countless problems throughout the closed section south of Elk Garden. MRATC TRAIL WORK and hurricane cleanup: The MRNRA has submitted a request that we be allowed to do trail work from Elk Garden NORTH to the northern end of our section. As soon as it is signed by the Forest Supervisor (which should be early this week), we can start assessing and clearing that part of our section. Some AT sections from Georgia into North Carolina are being opened. Central and Northern VA suffered less damage and the AT there has remained open.
