Friday Hike May 29th - AT Hike Glade Mountain -
Join us for this hike up Glade Mountain from the Settlers Museum. There may be some early rhododendrons blooming on the way up the mountain. There are some good views from the mountain westward towards Walker Mountain. There will be three options for the hike: (1) Out and back hike to Chatfield Shelter, an easy hike of 3.8 miles in total with 660 feet elevation gain, (2) Out and back hike to Glade Mount summit, an moderate hike of 7.0 miles in total with an elevation gain of 1535 feet, or (3) Point to Point hike from the Settlers Museum to the Mount Rogers NRA Headquarters on Rt 16, a more difficult hike of 8.7 miles and an elevation gain of 2430 feet (going up Glade Mtn and then down the mountain and then up Brushy Mtg to…
